Popular Culture
cultural activities or commercial products reflecting, suited to, or aimed at the tastes of the general masses of people.
Cultural Artifacts
the visible symbols and objects that are unique to an organization and that suggest the kinds of shared beliefs and expectations of members.
Aesthete
a person who has or professes to have refined sensitivity toward the beauties of art or nature
Public Sphere
an accessible and independent realm in which each voice is equal to one. The public sphere is the means by which democratic decisions are reached.
“High” Culture
Canons of artistic and literary masterworks recognized by dominant economic classes.
“Low” Culture
A term for some forms of popular culture. It is the opposite of high culture. low culture is a derogatory term for popular culture. Romanticism was one of the first movements to reappraise “low culture,” when previously maligned medieval romances started to influence literature.
